Day 4 May 17th: Hurra!!! Norway's National Holiday
8 AM Flag raising and gathering at the Bake Park in Drøbak.
11 AM Start of the children’s parade through town.
Afternoon sightseeing tour on a boat for about 1.5 hours along the coastline of Oslofjord. Eating peel-on shrimp and drinking white wine. (A Norwegian Tradition)
At 5 PM all the citizens of Drøbak partake in a parade.
Dinner at the hotel in the evening.
Day 5 May 18th:
We leave by plane from Gardermoen to Bodø. Hope the weather is good and you can see a lot of Norway on the way up.
There will be time to walk around Bodø before we get on the costal steamer ” Hurtigruta” which takes us out to Stamsund – arriving at 7 PM. www.hurtigruten.no
We continue to Reine Rorbuer 72 km with wonderful nature. www.reinerorbuer.no
Late dinner and then enjoy the evening. It is light almost all night!
Day 6 May 19th:
Hiking in the mountain with local guide. We take a boat a short ride and walk from this place. We learn how to bake Norwegian cake waffles and enjoy eating them.
Lunch and dinner at Reine Rorbuer.
Day 7 May 20th:
This is the fishing paradise, so for those who want, we can fish and have it as dinner in the evening. Lunch and dinner at Reine Rorbuer. Museum tour of local artist. Many Norwegian painters and writers live in this community.
Day 8 May 21st:
We travel with ferry from Moskenes to Bodø and then plane to Stockholm. We arrive late afternoon and go to our hotel in the center of town.
Dinner together.
Day 9 May 22nd:
City tour in Stockholm which includes Drottningholm, Gamle Stan (Old Town), Wasa ship and changing of the guard at the palace. Afternoon for shopping and free time. We recommend the evening at “Skansen” the local entertainment area. We will travel there together, but spend the evening as we please. There are many places to enjoy for meals.
Day 10 May 23rd:
The morning is free. Then we meet for a cruise in the harbor of Stockholm. Very famous!
Farewell Dinner.
Day 11 May 24th:
Last minute shopping before we head to the airport and fly home.
